Threading the Needle!

"Threading the needle"

What does that phrase bring to mind for you? For me in the most recent days, it has been navigating the unfortunate fall my dad took that broke his hip, and me actually finding the time to complete my book launch. Finding the exact, careful middle that avoided failure on both accounts was a tricky place to be. In the end, at least for now, I managed both, by the grace and goodness of God!

So where do you find yourself today needing to 'thread the needle'. Maybe it's learning to live by faith without becoming pasive, and acting responsibly, without relying only on yourself. OR maybe it's offering empathy towards someone without enabling them. I sure know that scenario very well. OR, perhaps it's protecting your own needs while remaining loving and connected. I've also found myself often living in the middle of that needle threading process!

Wherever this phrase is finding itself in the midst of your own life today, or might show up at any moment in the future, seek the Biblical wisdom that often asks: "How do I love without compromising truth?" "How do I stand firm without becoming hard?" and "How do I act courageously without losing humility?"

Check out the following verses that answer these questions as you seek to 'thread the needles' that come your way: Matthew 7:13,14 (Wisdom is found not in extremes, but in faithful obedience guided by the Spirit); John 1:14 (Jesus showed compassion without excusing sin, and always spoke the truth without cursing the sinner); Ephesians 4:14 (Truth without love becomes harsh. Love without truth becomes sentimentality)

As you thread the needles in your own life, seek God's discernment and find balance; they will lessen the stress that comes from life, and deliver peace to your soul!
